The Trailer Park Fashion Show

Not all of the top or best videos of 2007 are necessarily found on YouTube. Afterall, there are many lesser-known websites that feature interesting and original homemade (or not) videos, like today's host - Crackle.

In this next installment of the Monkey's Favorite Videos of 2007, fashion is taken to a new low (or just a new level) in this amateur video production featuring a "trailer park fashion show".

There's no Armani or Versace here, just good ole homegrown fashion fun.

The Best Web Videos of 2007 - Sea Otters in Love, Milo and Nyac

In a year in which the Internet was awash with viral videos of celebrities, random violence, stupidity and just about anything else you can think of, it is refreshing when a 'cute' video that almost anyone can appreciate becomes 'YouTube sensation.'

That is exactly what happened with this next video: clean, sweet and a must-see for anyone who loves animals.

The video, filmed at the Vancouver Aquarium last year, shows two sea otters - Milo and Nyac - 'holding hands' while floating on their backs. The video has already been viewed more than 12 million times on YouTube and other video sites.

Adults, teens and kids from all over the world have 'favorited' this video on YouTube and written comments that are uplifting and poignant.

One YouTube member harbourtown2 wrote about the sea otter video:

"[I am] going through a very hard time..... very depressed....... this just
restored my faith in love."

In a world that is becoming crazier, more materialistic and less connected to nature every day, this is the kind of stuff we ultimately want to see, not Paris Hilton being dragged off to court.

The power of wholesome, enlightening and amazing video is undeniable, and while there is plenty of bad stuff out there on the Internet, there is more good if you know how, where and when to find it.

A Music Movie Contest for Anyone and The Killers Santa Please Don't Shoot Me Video

Happy holidays all.

The monkeys have been away for some time now working on big stuff for this site in 2008. Coming up soon, the weirdest, wildest, strangest, funniest and most amazing videos of 2007 collected from more than two dozen top video sites and vlogs - or video blogs.

Videophiles - here's a unique challenge to all professional and 'amateur' music movie makers. A music website is holding the "The Wonderful Video Contest" and the winner is in store for a bunch of cool prizes from record labels like Matador, Rough Trade, Sub Pop and Merge Records.

Make a music video of your favorite song, upload it before February 5th, 2008. Get more details. Also if you are in search of indie or alternative Xmas songs, check out the Christmas playlist mixes at IRC.
